Good or Bad

It’s a bright sunny morning. Good or Bad? Good.

A boy is helping her mother getting some household things. Good or Bad? Good.

They pass through an ice cream parlor and the boy insists for one. Good

The mother denies at once. BAD

The boy starts crying. BAD

The mother knows that he is suffering from cold and ice cream will worsen the situation (thus the restriction):Good

Moral of the story: Refrain from having myopic view of life.

Many a times we behave like the child, when we don’t get the ice cream we tend to become hostile and get trapped with destructive thoughts without taking into account the bigger picture of life. We forget there is something else (destiny,  god, whatever you’d like to call it) that knows what’s better for us! As they say, “there are no unanswered prayers, if you don’t get what you want, the answer is NO.”

When was the last time you didn’t get what you wanted so dearly and  later realized that it was not really meant for you! Good and Bad are relative and time sensitive, What seems to be good now may not be so next year and vice-versa.

There is this friend of mine who was in love with his girl since school days, it was going good. School passed and the college finished as well; they were still together, he was madly in love with her and wanted to settle in life soon to get his commitment to the next stage. He got a good job but still wanted better, went for higher education and landed up with a job which paid more than 2 and half times the previous one.

Good or Bad: GOOD

Last time when I got to talk to him, he was happy with life and hopeful about the future but now his 9 yrs old relationship was no more there, they broke up the other day!

Good or Bad: I Don’t Know.

Only he can answer this and the answer need not necessarily be “Bad”. Life changes the priorities and situations take a different turn with time.

Next time when you are into some unfavorable circumstances, think about it from some other point of view, take a look at the bigger picture and not be adamant about the ice cream!
