How do they teach about Internet at college
May 10, 2008I’ve been using college Internet for the last couple of months and I realised how it helps us 
understand and exploit the net better!!
Lets take it one at a time…
Banning YouTube: It took me a lot of troubles to find out how to still have access to it. [Its one of the sites that changed the way we look at Internet. why ban it?! ]
FaceBook Banned: Who doesn’t know how to access it through proxy!!
Access restriction to orkut: You gotta be kidding me.. after some googling, one can open it easily!!
now coming to the title of the post, I’m grateful to our college authorities for banning all those sites; it provided me with ample opportunities to discover Internet better so as to exploit it to the fullest!!
NOTE: If you happen to be one of those guys who restrict the sites for access, try googling other ways to access the same and ban that too.
My Stand on this: Access restriction is not the solution. The use of a specific site should be left to the users’ discretion.
The Idea: Try banning Google. It leads to every other thing!!

LOl..irony of life…. the more they block something..the more we learn…. but somewhere we need to define our limits too…. me, personally can go overboard with the internet thing…harming my normal routine…..somewhere its required..!! :((

then why trouble yourself banning those sites and ultimately trouble us to find other ways. Anyways we’ll access that… why waste our time!!
I would like to meet the imbecile who authorised the ban on the sites you mentioned . As you said , Google leads to everything else , so why not ban Google ? These morons are apparently unaware of the fact that pornography is more freely accessible through the college net connection than the social networking sites . Btw , how do you open facebook ? Is there some site like powerscrap for it as well ?

and ya, you are right about the pornography thing.. its easier to open youporn here than orkut…
I generally use server6.kproxy.com for orkut as well as facebook… but you can use http://m.facebook.com/ for facebook.. (its the mobile version of the site)
