GPA Does Matter

“It doesn’t if its above certain level”, said my friend.. But who is to decide the level??

For so many years I have been struggling to prove otherwise but the fear of unknown, by going against the accepted notion, always held me back… When almost everyone around thinks that the students who score well do well in life, Its difficuilt not to get affected and I did accordingly(though I am not one of those high scorers but I do fine or I should say till now I have done fine)… Now when I am about to enter the real world, I fear all those “theorems” and “programs” don’t apply to real life… It require a totally different set of skills to survive, “Life Skills!!”

I want to get above all those books and try what I always wanted to… stop worrying about the grades and do what I like doing the most! I want to prove to world that I exist not because of what I studied but because of what I learnt… I will no more let the schooling, affect my education!! I seriously wanna get a life…

As President George W. Bush told a group of graduates in 2001:

“To all the C-students, I say, you too can be president of the United States.”

If You Want to be Rich and Happy….

Does that sound stupid?? or unconventional??!! Well the book gives a thought over the education system and how the system is not preparing young minds for the real life!!

Instead of preparing students for the realities of life, the education system has essentially sabotaged their natural ability to function in a world of change. Teaching students to conform and to search for the one right answer ultimately destroys their independence and their passion for learning and living. True learning does not end with graduation and a diploma…

The book might just change the way you look at the things.

I remember in one of our labs when I wrote a c++ program which gets computer hanged (actually i was writing my lab program and due to some error the comp hanged; but let it be a secret, an open secret)…

By luck or by badluck the teacher was around when i did this..he just whispered, “press those 3 keys.” Yes we are talking about ctrl+alt+del.. now let me come straight to the point.

I saw an interesting video starring David Bradley. He is explaining how and when he invented the keystroke ctrl-alt-del, but there is something more to look for..

Faculty Feedback System

With lots of difficulties cropping up, finally the faculty feedback system [Online Feedback System for the student evaluation of teaching faculty for Manipal Institute of
Technology, Manipal.], I developed for the college has been implemented…It all worked fine except for some cases where they did some mistakes in entering the data..Some ppl liked it and yet some criticized it…

I am happy about it, for its gud to see the system working fine in real time!! I must say, it was a great learning experience, the problems we encountered..the way we overcame it.. Though all the requirements were not very clear from the beginning until the time of implementation, the design what conceived was more or less okay… Still there are lots of scope for improvement…

Considering it was my first real time project (earlier I did only mini projects) it was a great experience and I believe I can do better in the projects to come!!

Adieu College..

With all the shouting, dance and crackers by the final yr guys who seem to be so happy to finish the college, I am bugged and being deprived of my sleep…but wait I am not blaming anyone for this…4 yrs is such a long time spent here, and finally when you are leaving the place which gave countless moments of happiness and meaning to our lives, its altogether a different kind of feeling and I am falling short of words to describe it

Our turn too will come, 1 more yr to go…whatever since I couldn sleep I decided to surf net, saw some videos on youtube including the “Shilpa Shetty” video

While I watch some more videos till I fall asleep…You ppl enjoy this one..(Love is All Around..)

Stuff you wish you could have written in Exams

I feel it in my fingers..

Exam is all around us

And so the feeling grows!!

For us exams are like season..from the time 3rd sessional approaches, it starts and goes on and on…lab tests, projects, sessional, semester exam!! Anyways, I found something interesting today…. Here is something we all always wanted to write in exams!! thats all for now; gotta go..
